Book Review: Codex by Lev Grossman

One thing stressed for all authors is finishing strong. Grossman would have benefited from taking that advice. Codex, overall, is fairly well-written. The characters are a trifle boring, but otherwise realistic. The setting, in some places, is quite good. The story flows along without many hitches or snags. However, the ending is so terribly uninspired it is hard to believe it even belongs to the same book. If you took away the last thirty pages, I'm not entirely sure the book would even miss them. I know as a reader I certainly wouldn't have.
