Summer Finales
BETTER KNOW AS: How channels try to pull you into something else.
I know that I am not the only person who forgets that there are not going to be new episodes of their favorite show and thus sits down at the appointed time only to get sucked into something else put on to cover that time slot. I cry conspiracy.
I simply cannot wait for the next episode of Burn Notice. The summer finale has me waiting with bated breath to see what will come next. Michael shoots Strickler. Diego is thrown off a building. The noose appears to be tightening though who is holding the rope no one really knows.
In the meantime, I refuse to fall prey to the channel conspiracy. I will instead watch episodes on Hulu.

Death Note on Hulu
So I finally got to see all of Death Note. I didn’t know that my little brother actually owned the series, so I watched it on Hulu. That was an easy way to watch it without having to leave my computer. Not to mention, I don’t have to have an account to watch most of the basic stuff, just the things that have Adult Content warnings on them. Anyway, so there are a lot of easy features like popping it out to run in a separate window. The usual pause, stop, back up, fast forward all of that, without having to pop in a DVD and pay for a show you may or may not be interested in.
This is great way to review a show before actually buying it or trying to find it when it comes on television. Way too often, I end up with two shows on two separate channels that I want to see, and as a result, I don’t see all of either of them. Sad, but true.
Death Note is about a boy named Light, by all accounts a genius, who finds a Death Notebook. Death Notebooks cause any person whose name is written in them to die. He takes the notebook and begins killing criminals, seeking to create a better world by eliminating evil. Most of the tension in the show comes from Light’s cat and mouse game with those who seek to catch him. All the way up to the end, he seems as if he’ll get away with it. I have to admit, I was rooting for him to die by the end of the series, he’s not a very likable person. It’s a whole lot easier to like L or N, the quirky chasers, than to like Light, the manipulative little bastard.
All in all, a good series to watch. It reminds me of the old quote: Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
